I’m happy to announce that ChiZine, the publisher of my Cross series, will be publishing an omnibus edition of the first three Cross books this coming spring. Which is really just an excuse to show off another supernaturally good cover by Erik Mohr. Bonus content will be one or two Cross short stories, depending on their length when I’ve finished editing them.
The omnibus will be ebook only, because print is dead and we learned our lesson after people reading The Apocalypse Ark in bookstores raised all those ghouls in that hidden graveyard under the Barnes & Noble.
My publishers at ChiZine did a reddit AMA to talk about life at a Canadian publishing house. They have some useful advice if you’re looking to publish a book or if you want to see what the super-sexy life of editing and bookselling is like. (Spoiler: It is neither super nor sexy. But there is scotch.)
Congrats to my publisher ChiZine Publications for winning not one but two World Fantasy Awards. ChiZine won best collection for Helen Marshall’s Gifts for the One Who Comes After (tying with Angela Slatter’s The Bitterwood Bible and Other Recountings from Tartarus Press). Publishers Brett Savory and Sandra Kasturi also won the Special Award – Professional, for all their achievements.
I went with ChiZine years ago with my Cross books because they’re a fearless, brilliant publisher who are willing to take chances that other publishers can not or will not take. They publish the books that are about vision, not marketing/bookstore niches — and better yet, they back them! If you’re connected with CZ on social media, you’ll see how much everyone there cares about the books they publish. As most writers know, that’s not often the case with publishers. So it’s great to see ChiZine get some love.
Now I’m off to ask them for a deadline extension….
My publisher ChiZine is selling all their ebooks at 50% off until Sunday, March 15th, to make up for the technical difficulties as they switch ebook distributors for Kindle, etc.
That’s right, you can get each book for less than the price of a Starbucks drink. And they’re better for you than that Starbucks junk. Well, better for your body. The books are probably kind of harmful for your mind….
Hey, ChiZine Publications’ Boxing Day blowout sale is still on! You can get all their ebooks for 60% off — that means you can buy my first Peter Roman book, The Mona Lisa Sacrifice, for $4. I mean, I know you already have a copy, but now you can get one for all your friends. That’ll make up for forgetting to send them a Christmas card. Plus, $4 is cheaper than most Christmas cards these days, so it’s win-win for you!
